2020 was the YEAR of the intimate backyard wedding and this one did not disappoint. This day was GORGEOUS! The weather was a perfect 80 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze and love was definitely in the air. Luke and Haley, tied the knot at Haley’s childhood home. Surrounded by orchards and under a grove of eucalyptus tree these two said “I do” in front of all their family and friends.
I always tell my couples that I’ve never seen a perfect wedding day. While this one was pretty close what you don’t see is that our original location for sunset photos was a field behind the house. This field would have been perfect for sunset BUT it caught on fire about 3 hours before the ceremony (tell me you live in Northern California, without telling me you live in Northern California). Luckily, I had these leftover smoke bombs from a styled shoot that made up for the lack of a view. Honestly, plan B of riding skateboards and playing around with the smoke bombs was even more fun than the perfect sunset in a field. The night ended with the most delicious cake and some wild dance floor moments. Luke and Haley were sent off to their honeymoon by their cheering friends and family.
