My friend Kayla and I had a long conversation last year in May while we sipped on a glass of wine at a wedding we both happened to be at. We talked about being stay-at-home moms and how amazing it was but how sometimes she wished she could pursue something in the event planning world. She was the ultimate family party planner often planning large scale dinner parties for friends and family in the area, complete with full tablescapes, florals and catering. Long story short, me being a cheerleader deep in my soul, I think I told her “just do it, you’ll be amazing!” about 78 times. And thus was born Kayla Sue Events.
Our first styled shoot came together with such ease. Our models were in fact a real life couple who had just been married and were hoping for some extra portraits they weren’t able to get at their wedding this past summer. And our beauty team of course had to be Rebecca Murphy Beauty and Alyssa Acosta (Inner Beauty Lyss). A private estate was the perfect backdrop for the delicate florals from Flur and Gather and BINGO we were cooking. We sipped the most delicious wine during our shoot from Bestie Club and Bottle of Good Day Lucille in Modesto, California and the results were magical.
